# Smart Sanitizing Shoe Closets The Conceptual 'COMODO' Smart Shoe Closet Keeps Footwear Clean By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2021-09-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-shoe-closet References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2021/09/05/this-smart-shoe-closet-keeps-bad-odor-away-while-easily-merging-with-your-home-furniture/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+yankodesign+%28Yanko+Design+-+Form+Beyond+Function%29) & [designerdot.co.kr](https://www.designerdot.co.kr/) The conceptual '[COMODO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comodo)' smart shoe closet is the design work of [Designer Dot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virusdetecting-smartwatch) and Hyeona Cho as a solution for urban consumers looking to keep their footwear and their home cleaner on a daily basis. The unit maintains a compact, stylish aesthetic that can be positioned neatly at an entryway or in a closet as a dedicated spot to place shoes after wear. The unit would then go to work with UV light and a HEPA filter to sanitize shoes, dry them if wet and have them ready to wear in no time. The conceptual 'COMODO' smart shoe closet works to keep shoes feeling and smelling fresh, but could also work to keep unwanted contaminants out of a living space upon arriving back home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Shoe Closets:** The trend of smart shoe closets with UV light and HEPA filters to sanitize and dry shoes could disrupt the shoe storage industry. - **Home Sanitizing Solutions:** The trend of home sanitizing solutions like smart shoe closets could disrupt the home cleaning and sanitizing industry. - **Compact Sanitizing Devices:** The trend of compact sanitizing devices for personal use like smart shoe closets could disrupt the personal hygiene market. ### Who This Affects Most - **Shoe Storage:** The trend of smart shoe closets could present an opportunity for disruption and innovation in the shoe storage industry. - **Home Cleaning and Sanitizing:** The trend of home sanitizing solutions like smart shoe closets could present an opportunity for disruption and innovation in the home cleaning and sanitizing industry. - **Personal Hygiene:** The trend of compact sanitizing devices like smart shoe closets could present an opportunity for disruption and innovation in the personal hygiene market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chic Shoe Care Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shoe-styler.md) - [Sanitizing Shoe Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rootsense.md) - [Entryway Deodorizing Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comodo.md) - [Hygienic Shoe Care Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-styler-shoecare-and-shoecase.md) - [Germ-Killing Clothing Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothing-care-appliance.md) - [Sanitizing Organizational Clothing Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothing-cabinet1.md) - [Dedicated Cleaning Tool Sanitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sterilizer-2022.md) - [Miniature Sanitized Cabinet Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yujin-lee.md) - [Two-in-One Shoe Cleaner Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shoe-dryer-and-deodorizer.md)
