Researchers from West Virginia University's Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute are now working with Oura, a smart ring company, on a system that can help to slow the spread of COVID-19. The project looks to use an AI prediction system, which will predict symptoms from the virus-like fevers, coughs or fatigue. The system can even produce symptoms 24 hours before they occur. The researchers are currently tracking 1,00 healthcare workers, and they hope to increase prediction times to a total of three days.

If researchers can successfully extend prediction times to three days, then medical workers can better treat patients of COVID-19.

The smart rings are also being used by researchers to monitor any changes in temperature, and differentiate whether the changes are from COVID-19 or from stress or anxiety
