The startup recently announced a new slew of [Amazon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexa-smart-home) [Alexa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nordictrack-iselect-adjustable-dumbbells) skills that connect its smart mattresses and mattress covers to the voice-operated assistant, meaning that consumers can speak themselves to sleep. Eight's Smart Mattress collection is impressive in its own right, offering options like selective mattress heating, firmness control, and even sleep analysis based on one's movements throughout the night. Now, with the Alexa skills, consumers can use their voices to control those options. For example, anyone with an Amazon [Echo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panasonic-nnsv79ms) or Amazon Dot can say something like "Alexa, warm up the left side of the bed." or "Alexa, how did I sleep last night?" ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Voice-operated Assistants:** The compatibility of Eight's Smart Mattress collection with Amazon Alexa highlights the growing trend of voice-operated assistants in consumer products. - **Smart Home Technology:** The integration of voice control in mattresses showcases the advancement of smart home technology, allowing consumers to control their sleep environment effortlessly. - **Personalized Sleep Experience:** The use of voice commands to adjust mattress settings reflects the trend of personalized sleep experiences, tailoring comfort and features to individual preferences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Automation:** The integration of voice-controlled mattresses aligns with the home automation industry, providing a convenient and seamless sleep experience within a smart home ecosystem. - **Health and Wellness:** The smart mattress technology with voice control offers opportunities in the health and wellness industry by enabling personalized sleep monitoring and optimization. - **Consumer Electronics:** The compatibility of Eight's Smart Mattress collection with Amazon Alexa highlights the potential for voice-controlled technologies to innovate the consumer electronics industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Driven Mattress Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aidriven-mattress.md) - [AI-Powered Pillow Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eight-sleep-1.md) - [Adjusting AI Mattresses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/derucci-t11-pro-smart-mattress.md) - [Temperature-Regulating Mattress Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eight-sleep-pod-cover.md) - [AI-Powered Mattress Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-powered-smart-cover.md) - [AI-Powered Smart Mattresses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aipowered-smart-mattress.md) - [AI-Integrated Mattresses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimizeme.md) - [Science-Backed Smart Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleep-numbers-smart-beds.md) - [Self-Adjusting Mattresses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-care-air-mattress.md)
