The [EDC](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xcraft) mini flashlight can calculate the distance to the place you are trying to light up and react accordingly. This makes it dim if you are merely pointing the beam of light at the path before you, but get brighter if you direct it at a horizontal object in the distance. The smart flashlight is also [pocket-sized](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fl1-flashlight) for added convenience. The one handed LED light source has three different light brightness modes if you are in a situation that requires consistent output or are standing steady. When using the automatic dimmer feature, you can save the battery as well (which typically lasts 14 hours). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Automatic Dimming Technology:** The development of automatic dimming technology in flashlights presents opportunities for creating smarter lighting solutions. - **Distance Calculation:** Integrating distance calculation capabilities in flashlights opens possibilities for adaptive lighting based on the user's needs and surroundings. - **Pocket-sized LED Flashlights:** The emergence of pocket-sized LED flashlights offers a compact and portable lighting solution for individuals on the go. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Equipment:** The outdoor equipment industry can explore incorporating automatic dimming technology and distance calculation features into their product lines, enhancing the functionality and convenience of flashlights. - **Emergency Preparedness:** The emergency preparedness industry can benefit from integrating automatic dimming and distance calculation capabilities in flashlights for improved visibility and efficiency in emergency situations. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can tap into the market of pocket-sized LED flashlights, catering to individuals seeking compact and powerful lighting solutions for everyday use. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Convenient Multi-Purpose Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dark-fade.md) - [Metallic Wearable EDC Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/darkfade-flashlight.md) - [Smart Safety Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timeli-flashlight.md) - [Diminutive Dual-Beam Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightweight-flashlight.md) - [Turbo-Powered Micro-Sized Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imalent-ld35.md) - [Pocket-Sized Turbo Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xo.md) - [Handheld High-Performance Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitecore-edc29.md) - [Adaptable Aquatics-Friendly Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deepglow-gd11.md) - [Rectangular High-Power Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitecore-edc27.md)
