The faucet is designed to operate using touch sensitivity, making it able to read gestures and articulate the movements of the consumer into actions. Underneath the Solna faucet is a specially engineered touch sensor that is able to read motion and turn on and off automatically. The added feature helps to cut down on water waste, as well as provide sanitary use when hands are messy. The faucet also accommodates different spray functions from a stream to a spray, while a 360-degree swivel design allows consumers to utilize the spout as needed. Despite the added tech enhancements, the Solna faucet is extremely minimal in aesthetic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Touchless Faucets:** Opportunity to create faucets that operate without physical touch using sensors and gestures. - **Gesture-controlled Appliances:** Opportunity to apply touch-sensitive technology to other household appliances for hands-free use. - **Smart Water Management:** Opportunity to develop water-saving solutions by implementing touch sensors to control water usage. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchen Appliances:** Manufacturers can integrate touch sensors and gesture controls in other devices like ovens, refrigerators, and dishwashers. - **Plumbing:** Can create and install touchless faucets and explore other plumbing devices that can operate without physical touch. - **Smart Home Technology:** Opportunity to utilize touch sensors and gesture controls as a user-friendly alternative to voice assistants and smartphone applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Motion-Controlled Smart Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-faucets.md) - [Touch-Free Kitchen Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kraus-bolden.md) - [Contactless Voice Assistant Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huayi-smart-voice-control-faucet.md) - [Touch-Activated Professional Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brizo-odin.md) - [Ultra-Modern Sliding Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desliz-faucet.md) - [Design-Forward Kitchen Faucet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jema-collection.md) - [Refined Dishwasher Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grifoa-sliding-faucet.md) - [Healthcare-Focused Touchless Faucet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicago-faucet-company.md) - [Enhanced Stylish Faucet Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omnibath.md)
