The [serving tray](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hormel-gatherings-bold-and-spicy-tray) comes in lots of fun colors including orange, hot pink, blue, teal, avocado and yellow, and includes a large hole on one side. This unusual feature is elevated from the rest of the platter so no appetizers can accidentally fall out of it, but it makes for an excellent thumb grip so that people can carry this tray without the risk of dropping it. Quite unusual but highly practical, the hole can also be used to [hold a wine glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/podio-cup) when using the Small Talk Snack Dish as a plate. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Colorful Serving Trays:** The trend of brightly colored serving trays adds a vibrant and playful touch to dinner parties or gatherings. - **Functional Design:** The trend of incorporating functional design features such as thumb holes in serving trays enhances usability and convenience. - **Multi-purpose Serveware:** The trend of creating serving trays with additional functionalities, like using a hole to hold a wine glass, adds versatility to entertaining. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Goods:** Home goods industry can capitalize on the trend of colorful serving trays by offering a wide range of options to match various interior styles. - **Entertainment and Events:** Entertainment and events industry can benefit from the trend of functional design in serving trays, providing practical yet stylish solutions for catering and hosting. - **Tableware and Serveware:** Tableware and serveware industry can explore the trend of multi-purpose serveware, creating innovative designs that offer convenient combinations for different serving needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Snack Platter Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hors-doeuvres-set.md) - [Stackable Rotating Snack Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tapas-snack-sphere.md) - [Artsy Serving Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoresin-accented-cheese-and-charcuterie-serving-boards.md) - [Modular Serving Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-serving-dish.md) - [Multifunctional Serving Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/convertible-serving-board-trio.md) - [Creative Dipping Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dip-sea.md) - [Multi-Use Pet Feeding Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trot-pets.md) - [Cup-Integrated Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pairingware.md) - [Intricate Wooden Serving Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-serving-board.md)
