# Lidded Container Tables The Troche Collection Features Small Side Tables with Curved Bases By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-04-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/small-side-tables References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2013/04/23/troche-sidetables-by-studio-wm-done.php) & [studiowm](http://www.studiowm.com/Troche-Sidetables) Designers Wendy Legro and Maarten Collignon of [Studio WM](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sevval-kalaycikli) have teamed up to create the Troche collection of small side tables that are simplistic, yet intriguing. Subtle design elements, such as the curved bases and drum-like tops, make these tables curious creations that are filled with the promise of mystery and ambiguity. The tops come right off, revealing a hidden cavern in which you can stash all of your secrets and clutter, tucking them safely away while leaving the storage unit on display as a serving table. Two sizes and styles, one with a solid maple top and the other in Corian, the designs are minimalist. Save space with small side tables that double as storage. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Furniture:** Designing furniture that serves multiple purposes and saves space. - **Minimalist Design:** Creating simple and streamlined furniture designs with subtle design elements. - **Hidden Storage Solutions:** Incorporating hidden compartments or storage spaces within furniture pieces. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity to develop and produce multifunctional furniture pieces with minimalist designs. - **Home Decor Retail:** Providing customers with stylish furniture options that also offer hidden storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating multifunctional furniture and minimalistic designs into interior design projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Asymmetrical Storage Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crossbred-side-table.md) - [Dynamic Geometric Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-side-table.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Versatile Curvaceous Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proust.md) - [Discreet Compartment Modern Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taarof-table.md) - [Wine Storage Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-side-table.md) - [Stylish Storage-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basso-side-table.md) - [Intersecting Two-Part Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaolin-side-table.md) - [Puzzling Geometric Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linked-side-table.md)
