This small modular cabin—done in collaboration between Italian architects Massimo Gnocchi and Paolo Danesi—is a perfect escape. Dubbed '[Mountain Refuge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usm),' the micro-home is [prefabricated and built from plywood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefab-house-1). The incredibly contemporary silhouette, which features a fully glazed wall, captures attention with its impeccable style.

The small modular cabin is intended to give occupants a "connection with nature." Since the building's design is flexible, Mountain Refuge can be tailored to personal expectations. The micro-home can either "stand-alone as one 24-meter-square space" or it can include a second module for 12 square meters of additional floor space. Both units have sloping roofs that point opposite directions for a more dramatic effect. Pine tar is used as a means of weatherproofing the small modular cabin.
