Slow Photography is a unique device that mimics the video cameras of days gone by. By video cameras of old, I mean really, really old. Slow Photography is designed to work with most major smartphones, meaning that for once, [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodcamera) users won't have all the retro photography fun. The device has "[three lens options on offer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiftcam-lensultra-explorer-series) – fixed focal length, macro and fish eye." The goal of Slow Photography is to help users go from taking mobile phone photos to working with high-grade digital cameras. Personally, I could see mobile phone shutterbugs (hipsters) flocking to a device like this. McCourt is currently in the process of getting Slow Photography mass produced. Keep your fingers crossed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 82% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Retro Video Camera Apps:** Develop retro video camera apps/devices for smartphones that mimic video cameras of days gone by. - **Slow Photography Devices:** Create devices that aid mobile phone shutterbugs to work with high-grade digital cameras. - **Lens Options for Smartphones:** Develop smartphones with multiple lens options like fixed focal length, macro and fish eye options. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobile Technology:** Incorporate Slow Photography devices into future smartphones. - **App Development:** Develop and market retro video camera apps for smartphones. - **Photography Equipment:** Produce high-quality lens add-ons for smartphones, including options like fixed focal length, macro and fish eye. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vintage Photo Camera Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodcamera.md) - [Single-Use Photography Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/later-cam.md) - [Nostalgic Digital Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cs8.md) - [Sleek Analog Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lomoapparat.md) - [Translucent Pocket Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearcam.md) - [App-Connected Upcycled Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digi-swap.md) - [Nostalgic Computer Graphic Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrospekt-and-polaroid.md) - [Imperfect Photography Celebrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonnas-cam.md) - [Retro-Futurism Video Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-8-camera-concept.md)
