# Slanted Marble Chairs Snarkitecture Created the Seemingly Unusable Slip Chair By Amy Duong | Published 2018-03-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slip-chair References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2018/03/05/snarkitecture-slip-chair-furniture-marble-white-ash-wood/) & [snarkitecture](http://www.snarkitecture.com/) New York design studio Snarkitecture crafted the [visually confusing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atypical-chair) Slip chair for Portuguese label UVA. The unique chair has a design that defies odds, with a wooden frame, uneven legs, and slanted structure. The Slip chair is seemingly unusable, looking like it is sinking into the ground, but it functions well as a seat. The studio works with craftsmen from Paços de Ferreira to construct a [white ash wood leaning frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pere-chair). A [black marble stone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tulip-chair) is used to form the seat and is cut at an angle to even out the slant of the white ash wood frame. The completely stable Slip chair plays with angles and the construction of each piece that formulate the entire piece. Every chair is made by hand within workshops and the studio plans on broadening material usage in future construction of the Slip chair.
