The furniture piece can be displayed in bedrooms -- as a nightstand -- or in living rooms where it can serve as a [practical side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roach-clip-side-table). SAIC's collaboration with CB2 is part of the educational institution's Designed Objects curriculum and is a partnership that "explores an awareness of surfaces." Featuring a durable, iron frame, this leather sling nightstand is adorned with a brass finish and is a contemporary design solution that is not only functional for storage but also aesthetically striking. The piece references retro design styles and is a lightweight item that can be used in multiple spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Retro-modern Design:** Opportunity to merge retro design with modern functionality in various consumer products. - **Collaborative Design:** Opportunity for businesses to collaborate with educational institutions to create innovative products. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture that serves multiple purposes to optimize space usage. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can leverage the trend of retro-modern design to create unique and functional pieces of furniture. - **Education:** Educational institutions can partner with businesses to provide hands-on design experience to students and drive innovation. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate multi-functional furniture into their designs to optimize and maximize space usage for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adaptable Bedroom Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mate-bedside-table.md) - [Wine Storage Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-side-table.md) - [Modernized Old-Fashioned Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/union-side-table.md) - [Industrial Floating Bedside Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tu-bedside-table.md) - [Connected Multifunctional Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-sleep-nightstand.md) - [Stylish Storage-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basso-side-table.md) - [Asymmetrical Storage Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crossbred-side-table.md) - [Tech-Packed Bedroom Nightstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bedside-table.md) - [Tech-Rich Bedside Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiinteriors-histand.md)
