# Sophisticated Steel Trash Bins The Rin Slim Trash Can is Crafted Using Premium Materials By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slim-trash-can References: [thegadgetflow](http://thegadgetflow.com/portfolio/rin-slim-trash-can/) & [zola](https://www.zola.com/shop/product/yamazaki_rin_slim_trash_can_black_11) Not much has been done in the way of trash can design since its inception, so the Rin Slim Trash Can is created as a way to change this. Crafted from durable steel and wood, the trash can features an interior rim that allows a bag to be placed within and held in place without having to be stretched over the exterior. This keeps the aesthetic of the trash bin looking sharp without having to sacrifice the cleanliness of the can by using it without a bag. The Rin Slim Trash Can comes in black and white color options, and is intended to be used in living room areas or offices. This is thanks to the discreet design that makes it look like a high-end piece of home decor rather than a place to toss trash. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sophisticated Trash Can Design:** Opportunity for innovative and upscale trash can designs that integrate premium materials and improve functionality. - **Interior Rim Bag Holding:** Opportunity for trash cans with interior rim designs that securely hold the bag in place and maintain a clean aesthetic. - **Discreet Trash Can Design:** Opportunity for trash cans that resemble high-end home decor, enhancing the aesthetics of living room areas and offices. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Incorporating high-end trash cans into the home decor industry, offering stylish and functional options for consumers. - **Office Supplies:** Developing trash cans suitable for office spaces, providing elegant and efficient solutions for disposing of waste. - **Waste Management:** Introducing innovative trash can designs to improve waste management systems, enhancing cleanliness and convenience for individuals and businesses. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tipping Trash Can Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niko-trash-bin.md) - [Sustainably Constructed Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubbish-bin.md) - [Customizable Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totem-compact-unit.md) - [Automated Anti-Odor Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zita-square.md) - [Modular Trash Organization Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sortmate-trash-cans.md) - [Modular Organization Garbage Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-garbage-bins.md) - [Rodent-Preventative Trash Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/group-project.md) - [Chic Kitchen Compost Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simplehuman.md) - [Retro-Style Home Decor Items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vipp-holgers-beige-collection.md)
