# Hinged Heated Seating The Slice Radiator Chair Folds Down to Provide a Toasty Perch By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-04-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slice-radiator-chair References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/04/02/finally-a-handsome-heater/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/slice/7508127) On cold winter nights, you might like to shift your armchair up nice and close to the heater. The Slice Radiator Chair is quite aware of its comforting effect on a room and its occupants, cleverly offering a [little seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitter-chair) so that you can feel the high temperatures of the metal against the shirt on your back. Designer Burak Kocak rendered his [hydronic concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warmflow-messenger) with aluminum or brushed steel bars that measure 1 centimeter in depth and 3 centimeters in width. They draw up and loop around the back for a height of about 4 feet. In between each metal grate is a thin strip of wood, marble or frosted glass. The bottom portion of the [wall-mounted Slice Radiator Chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mysa) slips in for a seamless, sleek look, or draws down as a level perch for pets and people alike. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hinged Heated Seating:** The trend of integrating heating elements into seating furniture to provide additional warmth and comfort. - **Hydronic Concept:** The trend of using hydronic heating systems in furniture design, allowing for efficient and customizable heating options. - **Seamless Wall-mounted Furniture:** The trend of creating furniture that can be seamlessly integrated into the wall, providing a sleek and space-saving design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the integration of heating elements into their seating designs to meet consumer demand for increased comfort and warmth. - **Home Heating Solutions:** Companies in the home heating industry can explore the use of hydronic heating systems in furniture design as a way to offer innovative and efficient heating options for consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can recommend and incorporate seamless wall-mounted furniture into their designs, creating a modern and space-efficient aesthetic for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Industrial Oceanic Home Heaters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coral-electric-radiator.md) - [Temperature-Sensitive Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/project-arielle.md) - [Solar-Powered Heated Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gosun-solar-seat.md) - [Heat-Shrunk Textile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shrinx-lounge-chair.md) - [Hanger-Resembling Towel Drying Radiators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zehnder-archibald.md) - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Industrial Leather-Padded Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strip-chair-by-henge.md)
