# Compact Compression Scissors The Cizorz Can Be Stored as a Slender Knife When Not in Use By M | Published 2016-08-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slender-knife References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/08/22/scissors-that-differ/) & [finnishdesignshop](https://www.finnishdesignshop.com/Serge_Atallah-d-195.html) Storing scissors can be a tricky affair since the blades can often come apart, which is why the Cizorz compressed design is an innovative design addition that compacts the utensil into a [slender knife](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leatherman-blazer) when not in use. In other words, the scissors are folded in on themselves so that they appear to be one blade. The blade is then covered in a wooden casing so the scissors can be safely stored away when not in use. The Cizorz are a modern update to the traditional scissor aesthetic, utilizing [two hardened steel blades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/15-collection) that lay flat on top of one another when the utensil isn't used for cutting. The core mechanism is made out of [leaf spring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hatchblade) that also supplies the compression. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Compact Compression Design:** The Cizorz showcases a compact compression design, presenting opportunities for other products to be reimagined and condensed for easy storage. - **Modern Update to Traditional Aesthetic:** The Cizorz offers a modern update to the traditional scissor aesthetic, inspiring other industries to incorporate contemporary elements into their designs. - **Leaf Spring Mechanism:** The leaf spring mechanism used in the Cizorz opens up opportunities for other industries to explore innovative ways of achieving compression and flexibility in their products. ### Who This Affects Most - **Kitchenware:** The compact compression design of the Cizorz presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the kitchenware industry, allowing for more efficient storage solutions for various utensils. - **Stationery:** The modern update to the traditional scissor aesthetic in the Cizorz presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the stationery industry, encouraging the development of sleek and contemporary cutting tools. - **Automotive:** The leaf spring mechanism used in the Cizorz opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for the automotive industry, potentially revolutionizing suspension systems or creating more compact foldable parts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Two-in-One Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twoinone-scissors.md) - [Structural Box Cutter Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-box-cutter.md) - [Pivot Mechanism Sliding Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sliding-knife.md) - [Compact Utility Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bq-s1-utility.md) - [Refined Meat Slicing Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/precision-chef-kitchen.md) - [Ultra-Compact Outdoor Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slidewinder.md) - [Multifunctional Japanese Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zanmai-sakura-scissors.md) - [Ergomatically Shaped Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergomatically-shaped-scissors-ergomatically-shaped-scissors-with-a-bat-desi.md) - [Portable Miniature Pocket Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuttix.md)
