# Spiraling Asymmetrical Concrete Clocks This Sleek Desk Clock Indicates Time with Light and Shadow By Jen Chae | Published 2013-08-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleek-desk-clock References: [fancy](http://www.fancy.com/things/312216470647996475/4th-Dimension-Concrete-Desk-Clock) & [fancy](http://www.fancy.com) This sleek [desk clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-clock-1) is sure to catch second glances -- it's one of those items you won't understand at first. The asymmetrical desk topper is called the '4th Dimension Concrete Desk Clock' because it emphasizes that time is also a dimension. The angling on the tubular clock casts shadows that change with the clock's hands. The clock's face, unlike traditional ones, is 3-dimensional in itself -- formed like a descending spiral staircase, its surface isn't flat. This unusual design gives off an architectural vibe. The overall appearance of the clock is [minimalist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cast-concept) because it has [no numbers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dozen-clock), but the concrete also exudes a rustic feel. The clock would be perfect for those looking for something artistic yet unusual. The clock can be purchased on Fancy.com. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sleek Desk Clocks:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating sleek desk clocks that challenge traditional designs. - **Asymmetrical Clocks:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in designing asymmetrical clocks that create unique visual effects. - **3D Clock Faces:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in incorporating 3D clock faces that add depth and dimension to timekeeping. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry to create unique and artistic clock designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the interior design industry to incorporate unconventional clock designs into spaces. - **Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture industry to integrate functional and aesthetically pleasing clock designs into pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Concentric Timezone Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-wall-clock.md) - [Minimal Sculptural Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trace-line.md) - [Intentionally Foggy Clock Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kehai-clock.md) - [Minimal Dynamic Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-desk-clock.md) - [Flowing Light Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crydal-scroll-clock.md) - [Celestially Inspired Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astral-desk-clock.md) - [Two-Sided Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corner-clock.md) - [Linearly Formed Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clock-concept.md) - [Tranquil Asymmetrical Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooj-design-masuno-clock.md)
