Or perhaps it could be used as a [Halloween-specific piece of decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bouqs-spooky-collection) that is only put out in the fall. Whatever the case may be, the Skull Planter is a playful product that brings a bit of the unexpected in the home. Cast out of ceramic stoneware and glossed with a white glaze, the Skull Planter can be used for a number of [indoor (or outdoor) foliage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter). Yet Fancy.com suggests, "Put a [cactus inside](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere) for an even edgier look." Other than its skeletal shape, the Skull Planter is fairly simple. This ensures that it can potentially work in any home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ceramic Planters:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create unique ceramic planters with unconventional designs, appealing to modern and hipster aesthetics. - **Playful Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a range of whimsical and unexpected home decor items that add an element of surprise to any living space. - **Seasonal Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design customizable decor pieces that can be easily switched out based on different seasons and occasions, providing a versatile and updated look. ### Where This Applies - **Ceramics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore innovative materials, shapes, and finishes to create unique and eye-catching ceramic products for various industries. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology and interactive elements into home decor products to offer enhanced functionality and engagement for consumers. - **Seasonal Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a high-tech retail platform that offers personalized and themed decor options based on different seasons and celebrations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Dinosaur-Inspired Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chiasaurus-rex-planter.md) - [Luxurious Minimalist Planter Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-planter-set.md) - [Vertical Workstation Wall Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-wall-planter.md) - [Illusory Planter Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rooted-planter.md) - [Trellis-Equipped Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blume-planter.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Ocean-Inspired Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-coralshaped-vase.md) - [Geometrical Head-Shaped Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vondom-adan-collection.md)
