# Sketch-Scaling Apps Designed for Designers, the Architect-Friendly Sketching App is Aware of Scale By Alyson Wyers | Published 2014-12-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketching-app References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/archipad-scaled-sketching-app-architects-designers/) & [ud-ltd](http://www.ud-ltd.com/archipad/) If you're a designer or architect, this sketching app could make you more efficient. Formerly called Archipad, the Archisketch app from [Urban Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-revivo-1) is aware of scale (unlike other design apps). On Archisketch you can pre-determine what the scale of your image is on your in-app drawing sheet. The sketching app will then make sure your completed drawing is scaled to real-world proportions -- even including the thickness of the lines. This is just one great feature of the latest version of the app. Other aspects architects, interior and product designers will appreciate include [freehand drawing tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawingpics) and layer rotations. The design app has a tiered price, so it's free for small projects but increasingly costly as the work gets more complex. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sketch-scaling Apps:** Sketching apps that are aware of scale to make designs more efficient. - **Real-world Proportions:** Technology that ensures completed drawings are scaled to real-world proportions. - **Freehand Drawing Tools:** Design tools that incorporate freehand drawing for architects, interior and product designers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects can use sketch-scaling apps to improve productivity and efficiency. - **Product Design:** Product designers can take advantage of sketch-scaling apps to create accurate designs. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can use sketch-scaling apps to quickly create designs that are to scale. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sketch-To-Code Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketch2appio.md) - [Digital AI-Generated Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picsart-1.md) - [Professional Drawing Tablet Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astropad-slate.md) - [Creative Infinite Whiteboard Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freeform-app.md) - [Budget-Conscious Interior Design Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craftle-app.md) - [Sketch-to-Art AI Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketch-to-logo.md) - [Mural Design Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-by-squares.md) - [Design Development Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-sight.md) - [Analog-to-Digital Drawing Toolkits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaper-trace.md)
