This unique [shelving system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving) incorporates ledges made to match the size and shape of the iconic four-wheeled deck. The rounded ends of the solid plywood pieces angle upwards, creating a clear reference to the street sport equipment and providing a clever way to hold books and other possessions in a way that won't allow them to fall off. Authentic [grip tape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vans-west-end) is even present across the top of the Skateboard Shelf to prevent items from sliding. This pro-organization product is available in both a natural yellow timber and a glossy navy blue. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Skateboard-inspired Furniture:** Opportunity to create furniture designs inspired by skateboarding culture, incorporating unique features and materials. - **Functional Interior Decor:** Opportunity to design interior decor items that not only look stylish but also serve a practical purpose, such as shelving systems with a specific theme. - **Youth-centric Home Accessories:** Opportunity to cater to the interests and aesthetics of the younger generation by creating home accessories that reflect their hobbies and lifestyle choices. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity lies in creating skateboard-inspired furniture that appeals to skateboarding enthusiasts and youth culture. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate functional and unique shelving systems, like the Skateboard Shelf, into interior design projects to add a playful touch while providing storage solutions. - **Home Decor Retail:** Opportunity to offer youth-centric home accessories, like the Skateboard Shelf, that appeal to skateboarders and teenagers looking to personalize their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Discreet Folding Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md) - [Living Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-scale.md) - [Folding Steel Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf.md)
