# Instrument Skate Decks The Skateboard Guitar is an Overload of Shred By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-07-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-guitar References: [craziestgadgets](http://craziestgadgets.com/2009/07/23/skateboard-guitar-rocks-n-rolls/) & [instructables](http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Skateboard-Guitar/) This is the sickest amalgamation of two objects that I have yet to see. The Skateboard Guitar is the ultimate tool for all of your shredding needs (FYI, the word shred applies to both of these disciplines). The Skateboard Guitar is simply a guitar that has trucks and wheels connected to the bottom (trucks hold the wheels). When you’re not riding it, you can definitely be playing it. I wonder how much damage you could do to the strings every time you ride it? I can’t wait for somebody to bust out a [kickflip](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mach-one-electric-skateboard)--or a few [sweet licks from an epic solo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piek). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Skateboard Instruments:** Creating instruments out of skateboard decks offers an innovative way to tap into the niche market of skateboarding enthusiasts who also enjoy music. - **Hybrid Musical Instruments:** Integrating two different types of musical instruments or objects, such as skateboards and guitars, can create unique and interesting hybrid instruments that offer new sonic possibilities. - **Multi-functional Musical Equipment:** Combining the function of musical instruments with that of other items, such as skateboards, can provide musicians with more flexible, mobile, and fun tools to use on stage or just for personal entertainment. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Skateboarding:** Skateboarding companies and brands can explore the potential of collaborating with musical instrument makers or creating their own line of skateboard instruments that appeal to their fanbase and foster new ones. - **Music:** Musical instrument manufacturers and retailers can expand their product offerings by incorporating unconventional designs, materials, and features that cater to diverse and adventurous musicians and collectors. - **Entertainment:** Entertainment companies and venues can incorporate skateboard instruments or hybrid musical equipment as part of their immersive and interactive experiences, events, or installations that bring together music, art, and lifestyle elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Recycled Guitar Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-guitar-1.md) - [Modular High-End Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shark-guitars.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bustin-boards-skatex.md) - [Two-Wheeled Surfing-Inspired Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surf-skateboard.md) - [Hybridized Electric Longboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybridized-electric-longboards.md) - [Accessible First-Time Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/redo-skateboards.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-scale.md) - [Boldly Bizarre Budget Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/budget-guitar.md) - [Electronic String Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni.md)
