# Pillow-Bottomed Pet Shelters Six Hands Dog House is a Sturdy Refuge and a Cozy Place to Curl Up By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-05-03 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/six-hands-dog-house References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/53743/) & [thesixhands](http://www.thesixhands.com/) The [iconic pitched-roof doghouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-for-dogs-exhibition) is recreated with the Six Hands Dog House. The designers have created a simple enclosure out of Douglas fir plywood that features two walls, a pointed ceiling and a pair of broad, open archways on opposite sides. This allows your pooch to enter through one end and exit through the other. But juxtaposing this hard timber material is a nice [plushy pillow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-bed1) that's stitched [natural cotton canvas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-dog-bed) in a soft gray shade. The fabric is waterproof, hides most marks, and can easily be laundered in the washing machine. There are two parts to this comfy cushion: the outer layer and the inner pad. This groove around the pet bed accommodates the insertion of the Six Hands Dog House so that it can rest snugly in place. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pillow-bottomed Pet Shelters:** Innovative pet shelters with pillow-bottoms provide a comfortable and cozy refuge for pets. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Products:** The pet products industry can explore the development of pillow-bottomed shelters to enhance pet comfort and well-being. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chic Plywood Dog Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooffy.md) - [Geodesic Dome Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domehome-dog-bed.md) - [Off-Grid Dog House Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-house-prototype.md) - [Pet-Accommodating Bed Frame Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-hut-bed.md) - [Pleated Designer Dog Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/issey-miyappy-tessellations.md) - [Sustainable Dog Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doggie-dreamhouse.md) - [Comfy Sofa-Inspired Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofa-pet-bed.md) - [3d-Printed Modern Dog Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-hut-side-table.md) - [Designer Dual-Sided Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyrmwood-doublesided-dog-bed.md)
