# Triangular Gallery Extensions This Addition to 'Site Santa Fe' Has a Detailed Aluminum Facade By Christopher Magsambol | Published 2015-10-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/site-santa-fe References: [wallpaper](http://www.wallpaper.com/architecture/site-santa-fe) & [sitesantafe.org](https://sitesantafe.org/exhibitions/) Site Santa Fe has grown into a contemporary art and architectural hub in recent years. The plans for the newly unveiled extension by SHoP architects shows how the gallery and workshop space hopes to engage more people in the community through enlarging and diversifying the space. The entire gallery will get a well-deserved technological upgrade, but more importantly transform from its earlier closed-off design, and become a space that opens up to the community. The extension will create a new reception space made featuring a striking water-jet-cut aluminum façade. This unique design is inspired by Navaho pattern-making, which pays homage to the industrial past of the gallery's site. The intricately layered walls will house Site Sante Fe's iconic quirky exhibits, lecture halls, event spaces and classrooms. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Community Engagement Spaces:** Expanding gallery and workshop spaces to engage more people in the community. - **Technological Upgrades in Art Spaces:** Integrating technology updates in art facilities for better user experience. - **Industrial-inspired Design:** Designs featuring industrial inspirations paying homage to historic sites, adding aesthetic value. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Providing unique art and design experiences to engage more community and art enthusiasts. - **Real Estate:** Building futuristic architectural structures with innovative designs up for sale and rent. - **Construction and Architecture:** Employing industrial-inspired designs in architectural structures to create new iconic structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Commercial-Transformed Artful Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canyon-1.md) - [Sculptural Museum Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diller-scofidio-renfro1.md) - [Weightless Pavilion Museum Wings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joslyn-art-museum.md) - [Geometric Three-Story Museum Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lvaro-siza-wing.md) - [Creative Arts Hub Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hopkins-center-for-the-arts.md) - [Temple-Inspired Striking Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abin-design-studio.md) - [Angular Concrete Monastery Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monastery-of-lea-do-balio.md) - [Jagget Metal Museum Entrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baroque-museum-of-catalonia.md) - [Pavilion-Style Art Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galeria-house.md)
