# Swearing Smartphone Apps 'How To Make Siri Curse Like a Sailor' Video Gives the PA a Potty Mouth By Senduran Bhakthakumaran | Published 2012-03-06 | Naughty Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siri-curse-like-a References: [wiredtechnews](http://wiredtechnews.com/03/make-siri-curse-like-a-sailor/) & [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5888023/how-to-make-siri-curse-like-a-sailor) Every owner of the new [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/screenable-app) OS has wondered how to turn the beautiful Siri into a potty-mouthed fiend for some leisure fun and the 'How to Make Siri Curse Like a Sailor' video provides a checklist on how one can go about doing so. This minute-long tutorial is probably one of the most compressed collections of swear words I've ever seen or heard and what makes it hilarious is that the cursing is coming from a smartphone. There are three ways in which one can get Siri to swear. By changing one's name on their iPhone to a string of curses and then asking Siri to speak the owner's name will force her to read whatever is there. Secondly, one can have a friend text message them with whatever dirty language they want and ask Siri to read the message. Finally, by switching a song title to a swear word and asking Siri to play the song will also force the [smartphone app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wispr-flow-app) to repeat the title before beginning to play. Thank you for the How To Make Siri Curse Like a Sailor video -- and happy cursing! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Naughty](https://www.trendhunter.com/naughty) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Swearing Smartphone Apps:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Develop and market smartphone apps that allow users to customize their virtual assistants with swear words and explicit language. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mobile App Development:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Explore the development of mobile apps that provide new and unconventional functionalities for smartphone users. - **Virtual Assistant Technology:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Enhance virtual assistants with the ability to understand and respond to explicit language, providing a more personalized and humorous user experience. - **Entertainment Industry:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Incorporate swearing smartphone apps into entertainment products and platforms, creating new ways for users to interact with content and have fun. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cheeky Family-Friendly Swearing Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/youll-swear-by-them.md) - [Humorous Profanity Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fuck-this-candle.md) - [Smart Automated Home Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genius-4.md) - [Child-Targeted Starter Smartphone Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/screenable-app.md) - [Sound Transforming Mobile Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outsidify.md) - [Water-Ejecting Audio Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fix-my-speaker.md) - [Inclusive Digital Assistant Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quinn.md) - [Recording-Elevated Voice Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voice-memos-app.md) - [Accessible Voice-Replication Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/live-speech.md)
