# Built-In Pool Abodes The Sinu River House Looks Like a Mini Mediterranean Resort By Meghan Young | Published 2011-09-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sinu-river-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2011/08/30/sinu-river-house-by-antonio-sofan/) & [antoniosofan](http://www.antoniosofan.com/) Many residences have pools in their backyards, and some of the lucky ones can even boast indoor pools, but only a handful (and that is probably being generous) can say they have outdoor pools built right into their designs like the Sinu River House. An otherwise simple and modern home, the Sinu River House's pool looks like a [mini infinity pool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-rock), making the entire house seem like some kind of private resort. Designed by Antonio Sofan Architecture and Interiors Studio, the Sinu River House's white and blue coloring also gives it a [Mediterranean aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia). Who needs to ever go on vacation if their own home feels like an exclusive tropical time-share? The Sinu River House is located in Monteria, Colombia. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Outdoor Pool Integration:** The trend of integrating outdoor pools into the design of residential properties presents an opportunity for architects and designers to create unique and luxurious living spaces. - **Mediterranean-inspired Aesthetics:** The growing popularity of Mediterranean-inspired aesthetics in architecture and interior design offers an opportunity for home decor and furniture industries to cater to the demand for a resort-like experience within residential spaces. - **Residential Resort Experience:** The desire for residential spaces that provide a resort-like experience sparks an opportunity for real estate developers to create exclusive properties with built-in pools, offering a unique selling point to potential buyers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture and Design:** Architects and designers can explore innovative ways to seamlessly integrate outdoor pools into residential properties, enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality. - **Home Decor and Furniture:** The demand for Mediterranean-inspired aesthetics in residential spaces presents an opportunity for the home decor and furniture industries to offer products that evoke a resort-like atmosphere. - **Real Estate Development:** Real estate developers can capitalize on the desire for a residential resort experience by incorporating built-in pools into their property designs, attracting potential buyers seeking a luxury lifestyle. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Skylight-Topped English Pool Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/malvern-pool-house.md) - [Garden-Surrounded Pool House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geometric-pool-house.md) - [Unobstructive Hidden Pool Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knox-bhavan.md) - [Underwater Pool Window Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hastingssunrise.md) - [Forest Sanctuary Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sadowski-house.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Mountain-Top Tranquil Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-aire.md) - [Patio-Centering Villa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-patis.md) - [Dramatic Clifftop Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-yuri.md)
