The Sinking Clock is a limited-edition [tabletop clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-desk-clock) by designer Ross McBride that reimagines the conventional timepiece through a [sculptural form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-2) that appears to disappear into the surface beneath it. Rather than relying on projection or digital effects, the illusion is created through the clock's physical geometry, with the lower portion seemingly submerged while the readable dial remains visible above the tabletop. Handmade to order, each numbered piece features a [gold PVD steel body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edition-003-clock), quartz movement and battery-powered operation, combining functional timekeeping with an object designed to challenge conventional perceptions of form.

Measuring 19.14 by 15.39 by 13.37 centimetres, the clock is sized for desks, shelves and bedside tables without dominating its surroundings. The design draws from both mid-century American design and Japanese minimalism while departing from the familiar circular silhouette associated with traditional clocks.
