Costa Rican design firm [Studio Saxe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-solai) creates the Sinfornia Verde. It is a [rounded courtyard house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baan-oo) nestled in Carate, Costa Rica. It rests on top of stilts to elevate the structure in the rainforest. It was constructed in a clearing in the greenery which was created by a fallen tree.

Two researchers approached this wanting to optimize the blue sky and sunlight that would come through by creating an [off-grid home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daria-sheina). The team explains more on the design, "The home is entirely self-sufficient, generating power through a photovoltaic array and a hydro turbine in a nearby stream, which also supplies drinking water. Energy-efficient lighting and responsibly sourced materials, such as teak and cork, further reduce the environmental impact."
