# Sink-Centric Concept Kitchens The Simple Life Kitchen Sink System Increases Food Prep Efficiency By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-12-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simple-life-kitchen-sink-system References: [red-dot.sg](http://www.red-dot.sg/dconcept/portfolio/view.php?rid=113) Until this Simple Life Kitchen Sink System, there might not have been such a dramatic change proposed for the domestic food preparation area since Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky's [Frankfurt Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jonathan-radetz). What designer Wu Chun Ming suggests is a complete reorganization of the common countertop and the integration of a greatly enhanced [network of basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luneup). With this expansive arrangement, the processes of washing vegetables, chopping them, compartmentalizing them and drying them are all easily undertaken without any need for the home chef to move her feet. There is ample space to multitask and to set down dripping colanders, baskets and trays. The accessories that accompany the Simple Life Kitchen Sink System even make actions like dishing out diced edibles seamless and mess-free. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Kitchen Design:** Design a kitchen with modular components for improved efficiency and seamless multitasking. - **Resource Optimization:** Optimize kitchen resources by integrating an enhanced network of basins and accessories. - **Seamless Food Preparation:** Create a kitchen layout that allows for seamless and mess-free actions during food preparation. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchen Appliance Manufacturing:** Manufacture innovative kitchen appliances and accessories that optimize resource utilization. - **Home Renovation:** Develop home renovation solutions that incorporate modular kitchen design for increased efficiency. - **Consumer Goods:** Produce consumer goods that aid in seamless and mess-free food preparation, such as kitchen sink systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reinventive Modern Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen.md) - [Tech-Equipped Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen-sink.md) - [All-in-One Countertop Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/countertop-workstation.md) - [Ergonomic Kitchen Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fotile-x20-max.md) - [Space-Conscious Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-kitchen-design.md) - [Freestanding Experimental Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-kitchens.md) - [Minimalist Kitchen Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-fresher.md) - [Cabinet-Style Kitchen Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/next125-pocket-system.md) - [Revolutionary Cooking System Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-cube-cooking-system.md)
