The multi-functional product is a [foam light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spark-acoustic-light) that can also be squeezed between crevices. Its curved form was inspired by a calabash pumpkin, giving it an [organic and familiar feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp). The white sponge-like device emits a [soft golden glow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) casted by an energy-efficient bulb encased in a protective cage, preventing it from getting broken. Simon Frambach composed the Soft Light from a flexible polyurethane foam, which was shaped by a rotational mill. The porous pillow light is also slightly warm to the touch, to keep you nice and cozy in bed or during a nap on the couch. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Dual-function Products:** The trend of dual-function products presents an opportunity for businesses to create innovative and versatile solutions that serve multiple purposes. - **Organic-inspired Designs:** Designs inspired by nature, such as the curved form of the calabash pumpkin, offer businesses the chance to create products that evoke a sense of familiarity and connection with the natural world. - **Energy-efficient Lighting:** The increasing emphasis on energy efficiency in lighting technology creates an opportunity for businesses to develop innovative, eco-friendly lighting solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore the development of dual-function products that blend aesthetics with functionality, such as foam lights that also serve as pillows. - **Furniture:** Furniture manufacturers can draw inspiration from organic forms and designs, creating pieces that not only provide comfort but also evoke a sense of nature and relaxation. - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can focus on developing energy-efficient and sustainable lighting solutions, incorporating protective features to enhance durability and longevity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ambient Aesthetically Pleasing Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu.md) - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Colorful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squeeze-inflatable-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Floating LED Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poof-light.md) - [Sleep-Aiding Tranquil Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-player.md)
