'Brittlebrush' is a [housing design for winter residents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg) in Arizona that want to get really, really close to nature. Sitting on a [small sloped piece of land](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-av) leading to its unique design, Simon de Aguero's house is literally [built into the desert](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-azzurra). The whole structure isn't too big, but it is incredibly open and features modern amenities like a fireplace. If you're truly looking to get back to nature sans sleeping bags and tents then 'Brittlebrush' is the way to go. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Housing:** Designing houses that are built into nature, not just on them. - **Modern Desert Living:** Creating housing designs that offer a modern home experience while still being located in a natural desert setting. - **Sustainable Vacation Spots:** Developing vacation spots that focus not just on being environmentally friendly, but also integrating the natural beauty of the surrounding habitat. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Opportunities to tap into the trend of designing modern, eco-friendly houses built into a desert's natural landscape. - **Tourism:** Creating vacation spots that are not only sustainable, but also blend into the natural beauty of the surrounding environment. - **Real Estate:** Developing properties that utilize and highlight the natural surroundings to create a unique and innovative living experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Desert Landscape Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juniper-hill-home.md) - [Desert-Nestled Home Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-desert-home.md) - [Comfortable Desert Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landing-house.md) - [Nature-Inspired Hilltop Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/las-rocas.md) - [Off-Grid Oceanside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/campos-studio.md) - [Earthy Off-Grid Textural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folly-mojave.md) - [Landscape-Overlooking Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/telescope-house.md) - [Landscape-Blending Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-pastizal.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Hill Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-av.md)
