He uses a surrealist effect to his art, and creates incredible, mind-bending work. Preferring to use mediums such as [pencil, ink and water color](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti), his work has a natural feel and it also allows him to have more control over what he puts on canvas. Prades takes average images and warps them in different ways, until only the skeleton of the original image is visible. He has transformed images such as people, birds and hippos. Inside his original picture he makes smaller designs, completely altering the look of the piece. Simón Prades has been able to successfully transform images into stunning pieces of art, and the [surrealism effect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery) he creates adds an extra element of interest to his already exciting work. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Surrealist Illustrations:** Opportunity for businesses in the art industry to explore surrealist techniques and create unique and captivating artwork. - **Medium Experimentation:** Innovation opportunity for art supply manufacturers to develop new products that cater to artists utilizing various mediums like pencil, ink, and watercolor. - **Transformation of Images:** Potential for technology companies to create software or apps that allow users to easily transform and manipulate images in surreal and creative ways. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** The art industry can embrace and incorporate surrealist techniques to attract a wider audience and tap into new markets. - **Art Supplies:** Opportunity for art supply manufacturers to cater to the growing demand for mediums like pencil, ink, and watercolor as artists experiment with different techniques. - **Technology:** Technology companies can explore creating innovative software or apps that empower users to transform and distort images, allowing them to unleash their creativity in new ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Surrealist Pop-Up Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surrealist-popup.md) - [Surrealist Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dali-x-casetify.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Surrealist Shopping Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreams-is.md) - [Surreal Artist-Inspired Tech Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dal-collection.md) - [Surrealist-Inspired Clock Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-clock.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md)
