The contemporary home became a project of Pereira after the owners met him while he was converting his own beachfront property into a home office. Pereira was given creative license over the project without any budget or time constrictions, and meticulously spent time getting to know the couple in order to design a unique home that reflected their routines and lifestyle. The massive geometric structure boasts a [timber facade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-residence) against an [angular white concrete base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fractal-facade-house) that makes it appear almost luminous from any angle. The Silverwood House is an extravagant example of the limitless possibilities when it comes to designing a home that is specific to the needs of the owner. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Coastal Architecture:** There is an opportunity for architects to create coastal homes that reflect the lifestyle and routines of the owners, as seen in the Silverwood House design by Ernesto Pereira. - **Timber Facade Design:** The popularity of timber facades in modern architecture, like the one in the Silverwood House, suggests an opportunity for further innovation and exploration in this area. - **Geometric Structures:** The use of geometric shapes in the Silverwood House design provides an opportunity for architects to explore innovative structures that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture and Design:** Architects and designers have the potential to disrupt the industry by creating customized homes that reflect the lifestyle and routines of the owners like the Silverwood House. - **Timber and Lumber Industry:** The use of timber facades in modern architecture creates opportunities for innovation and growth in the timber and lumber industry. - **Construction Industry:** The use of unique and intricate geometric structures in modern architecture like the Silverwood House design suggests an opportunity for innovation in the construction industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refined Modern Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house.md) - [Coastal Island Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasparakisfriel.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md) - [Seaside Home Renovation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia.md) - [Nature-Merging Geometric Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neville-park-residence.md) - [Park-Nestled Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-serra.md) - [Timber-Framed Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-residence.md) - [Coastal Forest Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openspace-architecture.md) - [Blocky Stone Perimeter Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forte-house.md)
