In place of the standard disco ball, this piece hangs from ceilings in a festive, triangular formation, changing up party rooms with a remarkably simple addition. According to the blog, the Silver Glitz Pinata will add a sparkly punch to any room, seen in the metallic shavings that hang from the sides of this [ornamental piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-interior-accents). While the crafty item is often full of [edible goodies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charcuterie-chalet-kit), this one is hollow, though the concept can be played with if need be. A silver metallic cord makes the item easy to incorporate into most rooms. Considering the alternative nature of this ornamental idea, it will thus make for a simple albeit striking home addition. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Alternative New Year's Decor:** The Food52 Silver Glitz Pinata offers a unique twist on traditional new year's decorations, opening up opportunities for alternative party themes and experiences. - **Festive Ceiling Hangings:** The triangular formation and metallic shavings of the Silver Glitz Pinata inspire the trend of using hanging decorations to transform party rooms and add a touch of sparkle. - **Innovative Ornamental Designs:** The concept of a hollow pinata with metallic shavings opens up possibilities for creative and customizable ornamental pieces that can be used to enhance various events and spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Event Planning and Decoration:** The alternative new year's decor trend presents an opportunity for event planners and decorators to offer unique and eye-catching design options for parties and celebrations. - **Home Decor and Design:** The innovative ornamental designs trend creates a market for decorative pieces that can be easily incorporated into home interiors, allowing homeowners to add a touch of sparkle and personalization to their living spaces. - **Craft and DIY Retail:** The demand for festive ceiling hangings and creative ornamental designs drives the need for craft and DIY retailers to offer a variety of materials, tools, and inspirations for customers to create their own unique decorations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Disco-Inspired Hanging Planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disco-ball-plant-hanger.md) - [Sparkling Illuminated Festive Wreaths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starry-wreath.md) - [Disco-Themed New Years Donuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disco-ball-doughnut.md) - [Customizable Holiday Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/merry-sparkles-outdoor-decor.md) - [Festive New Years Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/readyfestive-2022.md) - [Whimsically Bright Napkin Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloonapkins.md) - [Mexican Holiday Tequila Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1800-taste-tiendita.md) - [Cocktail-Inspired Tablescapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-tablescape-kits.md) - [Latin Playground-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sum-of-small-parts.md)
