# Metallic Bubble Chairs The Silla Cloud Lounge Looks Like a Shiny Cluster of Grapes By Bianca | Published 2009-03-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silla-cloud-bubble-chair References: [totonko](http://totonko.com/2009/03/silla-cloud-richard-hutten/) For anyone who’s ever dreamed of laying on a [cloud](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-tables1), this dazzling silver chair by Richard Hutten is the seat for you. The Silla Cloud, as the metallic, [bubbly pod](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunk-doughnut-chair) is called, looks like a cluster of round mirrors, offering varying curvaceous reflections. While some might think it looks like the eyes of a fly, others way sooner liken it to the shape and appearance of a [soap bubble](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sundae-modular-lounge). Regardless of what you see, the fact remains that the Silla Cloud chair is incredibly in line with modern design trends, as can be seen in the related trends below. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Metallic Furniture:** Opportunity for innovation in the design and production of furniture with metallic finishes, textures, and shapes. - **Organic Shapes:** Opportunity to explore unconventional shapes and curves in home decor and furniture design, inspired by natural forms. - **Reflective Surfaces:** Opportunity for experimenting with a variety of reflective materials and surfaces in design and architecture. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The trend towards metallic finishes and organic shapes creates a demand for updated products in the furniture manufacturing industry. - **Interior Design:** The use of reflective and unconventional shapes in interior design presents a new design challenge in the industry, with exciting possibilities for unique spaces and products. - **Architectural Design:** The exploration of reflective surfaces and unconventional forms in architecture has the potential to create visually stunning and innovative structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shepherd-studio.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Shimmering Cantilevered Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-shadow-chair.md) - [Otherworldly-Inspired Dynamic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmos-chair.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md)
