You may immediately discern that these decorative objects feature jug-shaped holes that serve as [bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand), but the apparent solids are actually empty too. Each vase-shaped cutout is formed by two mirror-image units that are themselves real stem holders. Dmitry Kozinenko's playful ornaments are totally practical too. Their open tops reveal spacious vessels for holding plenty of flowers, foraged branches and budding bunches; meanwhile, ample space is provided beneath to tuck knickknacks and novels into the urn-shaped gaps. These silhouette vases can be arranged in a spectrum of colors, contributing aesthetic delight in three ways to a shelf, a mantle and other surfaces around the house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Silhouette Vases:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to combine decorative objects with functional elements. - **Bookend Vases:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative designs that serve multiple purposes such as bookends and stem holders. - **Multi-functional Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop decorative objects that can hold flowers, books, and other knickknacks simultaneously. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design versatile and practical decorations for homes and interiors. - **Floral Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate unique vase designs into floral arrangements and bouquets. - **Publishing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with designers to create bookend vases that are both functional and visually appealing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Detailed Ceramic Book Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biblio-bloom.md) - [Minimalistic Feline-Inspired Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-silhouette-vase.md) - [Jewelry-Holding Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-vase-stand.md) - [Playful Packaging-Inspired Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strawberry-milk-vase.md) - [Cosmic Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-hole-vase.md) - [Milled Three-Dimensional Puzzle Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-bodies.md) - [Floating Stem Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lotus-effect-vase.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md)
