The remote control is characterized by its T-shaped construction that is inherently easy to hold onto and orient in the hand without looking. The remote control is also cleverly not able to slip into the couch cushions and become lost to eliminate the occurrence of it becoming lost between uses. The conceptual Sightless Remote Control is also free from conventional circular and oval-shaped buttons in favor of wedge-shaped ones that rise prominently out of the top section. This would also support sight-free use, which could further increase the accessible nature of the remote control. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 25% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Ergonomic T-shaped Design:** Innovatively shaped to naturally fit in the hand, this design minimizes the risk of losing the remote control in couch cushions. - **Tactile Wedge-shaped Buttons:** The prominent wedge-shaped buttons enhance sight-free use, making the device more accessible to individuals with visual impairments. - **Anti-loss Remote Controls:** A design approach focused on preventing loss by incorporating features that keep the remote easy to locate and retrieve. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** An industry ripe for innovations that enhance user experience through improved design and functionality of everyday devices. - **Assistive Technology:** Products that incorporate accessibility features provide critical improvements for users with disabilities. - **Home Entertainment:** Enhancing remote controls can significantly improve the overall home entertainment experience by addressing common user pain points. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intuitive Touchscreen Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchsense-remote.md) - [Accessible Home Device Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessble-home-device.md) - [Configurable Concave-Button Remotes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-liza-remote.md) - [Remote-Holding Streaming Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-art-tv-box.md) - [Transforming TV Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/controller-and-remote.md) - [Inclusive Smartphone Control Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/assistive-key-device.md) - [Tactile Smart Home Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/from-design-concept.md) - [Ergonomic Sleek Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-remote.md) - [Universal Smart Remote Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/universal-smart-remote-controller.md)
