# Smart Surface Stovetops The Siemens EH675MN11E Intelligently Adjusts Element Size By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siemens-eh675mn11e References: [red-dot.de](http://red-dot.de/pd/online-exhibition/work/?lang=en&code=2012-03-2086&y=2012&c=177&a=0) & [siemens-home.de](http://www.siemens-home.de/) The problem of matching a large skillet to a broad electric coil has been done away with in the design of the [Siemens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siemens-eq900-beanident-system) EH675MN11E Induction Hob. Whether you have three big pans or several small pots, each will have an element that's matched to its size. Winner of a 2012 Red Dot Design Award, this hi-tech kitchen range has two halves that function differently. The right side presents the domestic chef with a pair of circular [induction cooking areas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midea-celestial-flex-series) while the left side has four open rectangular bays that sense the placement of an item on top. Based on the deduced diameters of the saucepans and [frying pans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilean-pan) that have been set down on this section, the Gestaltung Hamm design of the Siemens EH675MN11E Induction Hob will focus heat directly beneath. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Surface Stovetops:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced algorithms and sensors to accurately sense the size and placement of cookware on stovetops, leading to more efficient and precise heat distribution. - **Induction Cooking Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Improve the design and functionality of induction cooktops to provide customized heating zones based on the size and shape of the cookware, enhancing cooking precision and energy efficiency. - **Intelligent Kitchen Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate intelligent features into kitchen appliances to automate cooking processes, optimize energy usage, and enhance user experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create smart home appliances that utilize advanced technology and sensors to improve functionality and energy efficiency, enhancing the overall user experience. - **Kitchenware Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with tech companies to design and manufacture intelligent cookware that can interact with smart surface stovetops, providing seamless integration and optimized cooking performance. - **Smart Home Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative solutions for smart home automation, leveraging artificial intelligence and IoT to create a connected ecosystem where appliances and devices communicate and adapt to user preferences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intelligent All-in-One Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-induction-cooktop.md) - [Invisible Induction Countertop Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaggenau-essential-induction.md) - [Luxe Futuristic Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolf-induction.md) - [Camera-Equipped Induction Stoves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slidein-induction-range.md) - [Ultra-Precise Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powered-by-impulse.md) - [Modular Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electrolux-jodana.md) - [Precision Countertop Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuisinart-tasty-one-top.md) - [Intuitive Cooking Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pro-harmony-liberty-induction-range.md) - [Precise Temperature Induction Cooktops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brevilles-the-control-freak.md)
