# Snowman-Building Scoopers The Showvel Gathers Powder into Spheres to Form Frosty Efficiently By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-04-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/showvel References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/04/21/snow-cone-shovel/) The edges of your driveway would take a far more whimsical appearance were you to clear the pavement with the Showvel. Jungsun Park, Arah Ko and Hyejin Kim looked to the [ice cream scooper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuisinart-solo-scoops-ice-cream-maker) for inspiration for this piece of outdoor equipment, proposing that [fluffy snowfall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-storage) can be lifted like the favorite dairy dessert. The extended dome interior of the snow shovel guides scraped up powder up, in and around, causing it to snowball -- literally. By the time the Showvel is full, the contents are compacted into a [perfect ball](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sphere-ice-makers), which can be dropped out of the device easily. Stack your gathered spheres into the form of a snowman, or have them line the sides of your walkway for a perfectly playful wintertime display. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Whimsical Shoveling:** The Showvel's innovative design of snowballing snow provides an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the snow removal industry. - **Efficient Snowman-making:** The Showvel's ability to create perfect snowballs effortlessly opens up possibilities for disruption in the winter decoration industry. - **Inspired Outdoor Equipment:** The Showvel's ice cream scooper-inspired design suggests potential for disruptive innovation in the outdoor equipment industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Snow Removal:** The Showvel's unique snowballing feature presents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the snow removal industry. - **Winter Decoration:** The Showvel's efficient snowball creation offers a disruptive innovation opportunity in the winter decoration industry. - **Outdoor Equipment:** The Showvel's innovative design serves as a disruptive innovation opportunity within the outdoor equipment industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ice Cream Sandwich Scoops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-cream-sandwich-scoop.md) - [Minimalist Eco-Friendly Ice Shavers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-shaver-concept.md) - [Self-Building Igloo Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inland-iglu.md) - [Intelligent Autonomous Snowblower Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowbot-s1.md) - [At-Home Soft-Serve Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourmia-softsnap.md) - [Snow Scooter Conversion Kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-scooter-conversion.md) - [Snow-Constructed Car Showrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polestar-snow-space.md) - [Coffee Ground-Made Music Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowie.md) - [Snowglobe-Inspired Dynamic Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-to-snow.md)
