This [do-it-yourself project](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table) upcycles [wood pallets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formwork-collection) into a useful [piece of furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) for your home. Created by Jen Turner, the Shipping Pallet Dining Table was featured on ReadyMade with full step-by-step instructions. Inspired by a trip to Paris when her friend Julien cobbled one together on a whim, Turner decided to bring this concept to New York. I'm glad she did. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 97% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Upcycled Furniture:** The trend of upcycled furniture presents opportunities for businesses to create unique and sustainable pieces. - **DIY Furniture:** The DIY furniture trend offers innovative businesses the chance to provide easy-to-follow instructions and kits for consumers to build their own furniture. - **Rustic Home Decor:** The popularity of rustic home decor provides businesses with the potential to offer a wide range of products that capture the charm and warmth of rustic aesthetics. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The upcycled furniture trend calls for furniture manufacturers to explore sustainable materials and production methods. - **Crafting and DIY Retail:** The DIY furniture trend creates opportunities for craft and DIY retailers to offer supplies, tools, and guidance to consumers seeking to build their own furniture. - **Home Decor Retail:** The rustic home decor trend opens doors for home decor retailers to curate and showcase a range of rustic-inspired products for consumers looking to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in their homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Side Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-up-side-tables.md) - [Stacked Wood Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plane-dining-table.md) - [Rustic Recycled Wood Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primitive-structures-table-design.md) - [Dual-Purpose Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-crate-and-end-table.md) - [Felled Tree Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ptacek-home-chunk-line.md) - [Skeletal Industrial Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/landr-dining-and-conference-table.md) - [Sleek Simplistic Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/troubadour-dining-table.md) - [Textile-Topped Table Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumble-tables.md) - [Recycled Yogurt Pot-Constructed Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-series-ii.md)
