This shipping container studio is the work of English architect James Whitaker who transforms freight units into a spacious studio. His workspace boasts a contemporary look but is actually budget-friendly thanks to its sustainable materials.

The low-cost workspace is made from [stacked marine containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kennedy-model) that are fitted with large glass panels. Its windows draw the sun's rays in and project light outdoors at night. This shipping container studio may only be a concept so far but is a great example of how architects are working to encourage sustainable design practices.

This particular project makes use of old freight containers and illustrates their versatility as an [up-cycled building material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lookout-above-litomyl). This project also draws inspiration from modernist design practices and plays with linear elements in an unexpected way.
