This biodegradable bench by Shinwei Rhoda Yen is made of wood and embedded with [mushroom spores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mycelium-muse). As the mushrooms grow, they'll feed on the nutrients in the wood. Eventually, the wood will deteriorate completely and succumb completely to the mushrooms.

Shinwei Rhoda Yen's bench is a perfect illustration of the complex relationships found in nature. Whether this biodegradable bench is located in a garden or on a sunny porch, it infuses a dose of organic authenticity to an urban or suburban setting.
