He is a visionary and his art and life reflects his contemporary interpretation of time and space. Kawahara's [17th century Parisian apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bergre-paris-ix) is a majestic sight. The compact space boasts a tiny home within a home, exposed wood beams and an abundance of organized chaos. Kawahara's abode is Asian-inspired and features a Japanese style tented lounge area with bamboo accents. The home is also filled with [Chevron](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbie-x-ruggable) hardwood floors, huge windows, cluttered living space and a tiny kitchen. This apartment is special because Kawahara purposefully staged his home with art, bonsai trees and ornate knickknacks. Shinsuke Kawahara has a bright future ahead of him and his home is a reflection of his genius. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Japanese-inspired Design:** The trend for incorporating elements of Japanese design into home interiors is growing, creating opportunities for businesses to offer unique and authentic products and experiences. - **Compact Living Spaces:** There is a growing trend towards smaller living spaces, which presents opportunities for businesses to innovate and offer functional, multi-purpose furniture and design solutions. - **Organized Chaos:** Designing living spaces with intentionally cluttered, yet curated and organized elements is becoming more popular, providing opportunities for businesses to offer personalized and eclectic design options. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Home decor and furniture companies can innovate by incorporating authentic Japanese design elements and offering functional solutions for small living spaces. - **Art and Design:** The trend for incorporating ornate knickknacks and art into living spaces creates opportunities for artists and designers to offer unique and personalized pieces that reflect their clients’ personalities and cultures. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** Hotels and short-term rental properties can differentiate themselves by incorporating Japanese design elements and offering personalized, eclectic living spaces that provide cultural immersion experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Japanese Inn-Inspired Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-tarta-piccola.md) - [Japanese Inn-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intheory-design.md) - [Eclectic Paris Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-asa.md) - [French Craft-Honoring Bold Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/univers-uchronia.md) - [Peaceful Wooden-Designed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-residence.md) - [Napolean-Era Minimal Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joris-poggioli.md) - [Cross-Cultural Influenced Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-de-sagonne.md) - [Parisian Haussmann-Era Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uchronia.md) - [Reimagined Minimal Parisian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon.md)
