Covering 105,300 square meters beside Yanzi Lake, the museum features flowing granite-clad forms inspired by geological landscapes. Construction began in March 2022, while the project combines exhibition spaces, publicly accessible grounds and a walkable roof within a single cultural destination. The museum's concept design was led by 3XN, with B+H Architects responsible for project delivery, landscape and interior design, and Zhubo Design providing local technical expertise. Exhibition spaces were developed with [Atelier Brückner](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunner-museum) and [Museum Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-of-technology-in-xian), incorporating curved galleries, immersive projections and cone-shaped exhibition halls. The building remains open to the public beyond its galleries through accessible outdoor spaces and elevated rooftop pathways that extend across the site.
