# Illuminated Digger Accessories The Shenfen Wang 'Light Shovel' Lets You Dig in the Dark By Marina Rotharmel | Published 2012-08-09 | Updated 2012-08-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shenfen-wang-light-shovel References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/08/09/for-the-seven-dwarfs/) & [ifdesign.de](http://www.ifdesign.de/) If you ever go searching for buried treasure and you're doing it in the dark, then you should definitely have the 'Light Shovel' handy. This concept by Shenfen Wang is great for digging holes when it's pitch black outside. Just like it sounds, the concept combines a normal shovel and light so you can find your way in the dark. This slightly creepy product is perfect for someone up to no good, and would definitely come in useful for Dexter Morgan's ways. This concept was entered in the 2012 iF Design Talents Entry. It's especially cool because the light on the shovel is powered by energy that is stored from being used throughout the day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Illuminated Digger Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop illuminated digger accessories for construction and mining industries to improve safety and productivity during night operations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce illuminated digger accessories to the construction industry to enhance efficiency and reduce accidents in low-light conditions. - **Mining Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create illuminated digger accessories specifically designed for the mining industry to enable efficient operations during nighttime. - **Outdoor Equipment Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the development of illuminated digger accessories for outdoor equipment to cater to hobbyists and professionals working in dimly lit environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mood-Setting Adventurous Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guidelight.md) - [Stylish Outdoor Illumination Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-outdoor-lantern.md) - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Item-Holding Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightray.md) - [Multipurpose Flashlight Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onurhan-demir.md) - [Outdoor Lantern Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-lantern-1.md) - [Compact Campsite EDC Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-lamp-and-alarm.md) - [Sleek Smartphone-Inspired Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitt-flashlight.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Flashlight Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barebones-edison-light-stick.md)
