# Taxidermy-Style Sheep Cabinets This Salvador Dali-Inspired Artist Makes Unusual Sheep Drawers By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-02-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sheep-cabinet References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2014/02/06/Sheep-Cabinets/) & [tusquets](http://www.tusquets.com/fichag/693/04-xai) Taxidermy is one of the weirdest things to do to animals, and these sheep cabinets take the strange behavior even further. These sheep cabinets are actually dead sheep which is beyond weird, but if taxidermy is going to happen anyway we might as well get furniture. Oscar Tusquets was heavily inspired by [Salvador Dali](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dali-x-casetify) for this piece and references his image, the “Interpretation Project for a Stable-Library.” In the image, the sheep cabinet is on the left side (there are lso other random sheep related things in the picture). The series is in conjunction with Deyrolle and will feature 21 [taxidermied sheep](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ark-collection) to create the cabinets. There will be 20 white sheep in the collection with just one black sheep. We’re not entirely sure who will be buying the cabinets, but whoever does will have themselves a very unique piece of furniture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Unconventional Taxidermy:** The trend of using taxidermy in unconventional ways presents opportunities for artists and designers to create unique, eye-catching furniture pieces. - **Salvador Dali-inspired Art:** The influence of Salvador Dali in art and design offers disruptive innovation opportunities for artists to create surreal and thought-provoking creations. - **Unique Furniture Design:** The demand for unusual and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces opens up opportunities for designers to experiment with unconventional materials and concepts. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the trend of unconventional taxidermy and Salvador Dali-inspired creations to create unique and captivating artworks. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the demand for unique furniture designs by incorporating unconventional materials, such as taxidermy, to create statement pieces. - **Luxury Market:** The luxury market can cater to high-end consumers seeking exclusive and artistic furniture pieces by collaborating with artists and designers who specialize in unconventional taxidermy and Dali-inspired art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Maternal-Themed Sculptural Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mother-and-child.md) - [Wilderness-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitat-collection.md) - [Reimagined Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yves-salomon.md) - [Juxtaposed Materials Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wool-diaries-collection.md) - [Sheep Wool-Insulated Guest Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-la-escocesa.md) - [Cozy Sheep-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flock-furniture.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Travel Trunk-Inspired Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-vuitton-cabinet-of-curiosities-by-marc-newson.md) - [Sustainable Retail Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sheep-inc-london.md)
