# Humble Organic Furniture The Shed Cyril Sideboard is Inspired by Garden Sheds By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shed-cyril References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/shed-by-fryfry-for-liqui/) & [liquidesign](http://www.liquidesign.co.uk/) Looking at the [Shed Cyril](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shed-architecture-and-design) sideboard, you might not believe at first that it was inspired by the humble garden shed. Yet upon closer inspection, you will surely see its influence from the brass lock to the organic design of the doors. Designed by Fry&Fry for Liqui, the Shed Cyril sideboard is the first piece in the [Shed furniture series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1). Simple, natural and full of intriguing details, this cabinet also features doors which are super unique. Not only do I love the dimension it brings to the sideboard as a whole, but I also love the way it opens up like angel wings. The Shed Cyril sideboard also boasts a nice contrast between the white doors and the [dark, walnut wood body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collective-collection), making it perfect for the contemporary home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Organic Furniture Designs:** Designing furniture with inspiration from organic shapes and patterns in nature can provide unique and intriguing details. - **Innovative Door Designs:** Incorporating unique door designs into furniture can provide dimension and interest to a piece. - **Contrasting Materials:** Pairing light and dark contrasting materials in furniture can create a modern, stylish aesthetic. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating organic shapes, unique door designs, and contrasting materials in furniture design can provide a competitive edge in the marketplace. - **Home Decor:** Featuring organic, nature-inspired designs in home decor can fulfill consumers' desires for eco-friendliness and sustainability. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating unique pieces of furniture into interior design concepts can provide clients with a one-of-a-kind, personalized space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Curvaceous Storage-Packed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrace-sideboard.md) - [Curved Base Plywood Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-embrace-sideboard.md) - [Offset Shelf Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crazy-slice-sideboard-concept.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Textured Oak Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-james.md) - [Anthropomorphic Design Dining Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sideboard-dining-table.md) - [Unique Burl-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md)
