# Ocean Predator Baby Furnishings This Shark Baby Basket is Inspired by Cult Classic Jaws By Jana Pijak | Published 2015-01-09 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shark-baby-basket References: [mashable](http://mashable.com/2015/01/08/jaws-crib/) & [facebook](https://www.facebook.com/joseph.reginella) When faced with a nursery project for his best friend's newborn son, Staten Island sculptor Joseph Reginella created a shark baby basket inspired by the [popular film Jaws](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seiko-prospex-jaws-special-edition). While not the most traditional of gift choices, the project is incredibly clever and has gained social media attention via the artist's [Facebook](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/family-center) page. Built to resemble a boat that is being devoured by an open-mouthed ocean predator, Joseph Reginella's creation takes a nautical nursery theme to new heights. The shark baby basket looks extra photo-worthy when his friend Mark Melaccio's baby is sleeping inside of it. This cinematic baby furniture project will only garner more attention and is sure to become a memorable keepsake for the newborn and his family when the child grows older. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Babies](https://www.trendhunter.com/babies) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cinematic-inspired Baby Furnishings:** There is an opportunity to create unique and creative baby furniture inspired by popular films, offering a memorable and personalized touch to nurseries. - **Nautical-themed Nursery Decor:** The popularity of nautical nursery themes opens up opportunities for innovative and imaginative decor items. - **Social Media-friendly Baby Gifts:** Creating unique and eye-catching baby gifts that are highly shareable on social media can drive attention and demand for personalized baby products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Baby Furniture and Decor:** The baby furniture and decor industry can leverage cinematic and nautical themes to offer distinctive and memorable products that stand out in the market. - **Craft and Handmade Gifts:** Crafters and artisans can create customized and cinematic-inspired baby gifts, tapping into the growing demand for unique and personal creations. - **Social Media Marketing and Influencers:** Social media marketers and influencers can collaborate with baby product brands to promote distinctive and shareable baby gifts through engaging content and platforms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bubble-Shaped Cribs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bubble-baby-bed.md) - [Shark Film-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jaws-lego.md) - [Shark-Themed Candy Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candyrific-pinkfong-baby-shark.md) - [AI-Powered Baby Bassinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snoo-smart-sleeper.md) - [Filmic Shark Fragrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jaws-fragrance.md) - [Sleek Cradle-Transforming Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schwan.md) - [Sophisticated Upcycled Home Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures.md) - [Smart Cry-Detecting Baby Cribs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starling-natural-heritage.md) - [Horror Film-Inspired Brick Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ideas-jaws-set.md)
