With Discovery Channel's Shark Week recently debuted, many brands and non-profits have launched initiatives to end the controversial hunting of sharks including non-profit organization Shark Allies. The charity was joined by advertising agency Spark as a pro-bono initiative to raise awareness about the shark finning hub in the United States that kills and dismembers over 100,000,000 sharks globally every year.
The multimedia campaign features social media graphics, a landing page, posters, and t-shirts sharing these controversial statistics and uses the hashtag #NoFinFL. The graphics feature muted pinks and greens colors with eye-catching, shark-themed illustrations. The visuals include call-to-actions such as "get this shady business out of our sunny state" and "give our fin laws teeth."
The campaign seeks to raise awareness regarding the extraordinary amount of sharks killed for consumer products.
