# Sharp Monotone Homes The Shant V Krichelian Loft is on Track to Become a Popular New Design By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shant-v-krichelian-loft References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Gallery/Loft/483060) & [wix](http://www.wix.com/ShantVK/home) People of traditional architecture turn away now! That's okay--I know all of you are into the modern stuff. The Shant V Krichelian Loft is about as cutting edge as you can get. The exterior is so [sharply angled](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbora-vokac-taylor-architect), it looks like you would cut yourself wide open if you were to brush up against one of the corners. The interior, however, is quite remarkable, featuring the [classic black-off-white color scheme](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texas-residence) that is seen in the majority of contemporary homes and condos. The Shant V Krichelian Loft is almost entirely all open, with the second level exposed to the living room. I am a big fan of the [open air second level](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omarama-attic). Rather than making the house feel too spacey, this concept can often better tie rooms together. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sharp-angled Architecture:** There's an opportunity for architects and designers to explore more sharp-angled designs in the realm of modern architecture. - **Open Air Living:** The concept of an open second level can be explored further to create more connected and cohesive living spaces. - **Classic Black-off-white Color Scheme:** The black-off-white color scheme can be a trend for modern homes and condos giving a timeless feel to the design ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Sharp angled designs and open air living can disrupt the traditional home and building designs. - **Interior Design:** The black-off-white color scheme provides an opportunity for the interior design industry to explore classic color schemes for modern homes and condos. - **Real Estate:** Real estate professionals can explore promoting modern and unique designs with sharp-angled architecture and open living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monochromatic Minimal Cozy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus.md) - [Compact Calming Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-sheltered-space.md) - [NYC Apartment Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brooklyn-loft.md) - [Monochrome Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grigio-verde.md) - [European-Inspired Urban Lofts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghislaine-via.md) - [Upward-Pitched Roof Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oneill-mcvoy-architects.md) - [Industrial Loft Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-casa-mrgt.md) - [Remodelled Denim-Detailed Modern Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microloft.md) - [Vibrantly Designed German Lofts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitrahaus-loft.md)
