Designed as a means to provide shade for individuals while optimizing the breathtaking presence of the surrounding views, the pavilion boasts an oversized red-vinyl roof and a [wooden structure composition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3to1-pavilion). For the design, DRAA drew inspiration from [traditional Patagonian architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-house-1)—particularly the seemingly simple yet purposeful roof that provides shade and serves as a marker in the landscape. When creating the Patanogian Shadow Cabin, DRAA was mindful of creating a design that could be easily integrated into the landscape—the wooden framework of the structure, as well as its off-center pillar and buttresses, help with this.
