You may have already guessed, via the water drops splashed all over this device, that it's waterproof. The SH93 portable hard drive can not only survive under one meter of water (gasp!), it can do so for up to 30 minutes (double gasp!). With its industrial look, you can’t doubt that this is, in fact, the case. Equipped with special cushioning technology, it has also withstood the devastating military MIL-STD-810F [drop test](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ex400u-survivor). So, fellow clumsinites, make sure that you've flagged this handy device as a must-have. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Waterproof Technology:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing waterproof technology for various electronic devices. - **Industrial Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating rugged and durable designs for consumer electronics. - **Cushioning Technology:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing advanced cushioning technology to protect electronic devices from drops and impacts. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the consumer electronics industry by integrating waterproof and rugged features into devices. - **Smartphone Accessories:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the smartphone accessory industry by creating durable and waterproof cases and covers. - **Outdoor Equipment:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the outdoor equipment industry by developing rugged and waterproof gear for outdoor enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Durable Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-t17-shield.md) - [Durable Encrypted Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidrive-encrypted-nvme-ssd.md) - [Safety-Focused Hard Drive Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-hard-drive-enclosure.md) - [Rugged Card-Sized SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-t7-shield.md) - [Dual-Connector External SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adata-sc730.md) - [Mini Military-Grade Gamer SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adata-sd810-external-ssd.md) - [Desk-Mounted Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hard-drive-concept.md) - [Durable Mobile Professional SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexar-es3.md) - [Ultra-Compact Portable SSDs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultra-compact-ssd.md)
