# Tall Tipping Lamps The Serien 'Slant' Lighting Hovers Over You at a Precarious Angle By Meghan Young | Published 2010-08-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/serien-slant-lighting References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/004564.html) & [serien](http://www.serien.com/en/news/newsdetails/article/67/slant-xl-draussen-wie-drinnen-imposant.html) The Serien 'Slant' Lighting is perfect for [overhead lighting needs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light). Its slight angle -- a little precariously tilted if I may say -- allows the bulb and shade to hover over heads rather than beside them, flooding areas with more light. Designed by Gwen Floyd, the Serien 'Slant' Lighting also features a [swiveling base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivoting-lamps-collection) and a [tiltable shade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter) in order to place it in the absolute perfect position. Highly accommodating, it looks mighty fine to boot. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Hovering Lighting:** The Serien 'Slant' Lighting provides a new option for overhead lighting needs that hovers over heads for more light. - **Swiveling Base:** The 'Slant' Lighting opens up new possibilities for lighting placement with its swiveling base. - **Tiltable Shade:** The tiltable shade on the 'Slant' Lighting allows for customizable lighting angles and illumination. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** This design trend offers new possibilities for interior design and optimization of lighting space. - **Lighting:** The 'Slant' Lighting introduces new options for lighting technology and design. - **Furniture:** Designers may incorporate the 'Slant' Lighting as a unique and functional furniture piece in their designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Reversible Glass Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal.md) - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Fluid Structural Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loja.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md)
